< Kanazawa | Japan (Spring 2003) Coming Back2003.Jun.03 - 2003.Jun.05The last two days I spent buying stuff I wanted to bring back to Switzerland and packing. Even after taking out and putting on my heavy hiking shoes and stuffing as many books and other heavy things into the rucksack which would be my hand luggage, the bag to become checked baggage was a little over 24 kilograms, more than 4 kilograms over my allowance. Fortunately nobody mentioned the overweight when checking in. Were they a little bit more generous because I had to fly via Frankfurt instead of going to Zurich directly? On the flight to Frankfurt I again got a seat next to a lady which originally had booked a direct flight and was terrified of changing planes at an unknown airport, not speaking any German or English. This time it was not an old lady but a rather attractive young lady. Of course I gladly volunteered to help accompany her through the whole process and as far as the arrival hall in Zurich, where her friend was waiting for her. Unfortunately I have not heard of her since. |
