Getting There

2004.Apr.01 - 2004.Apr.03

In Switzerland it had been snowing a lot the previous week and we got more snow in just two days than we'd had the whole winter; more than one meter! Exactly at that time one of our two cats disappeared. Not unexpectedly, though. It had acted strangely for about half a day, as if it knew it was going to die and wanted to say goodbye to everybody. Finally, after about a week, it was found, dead indeed. The weather was still rather cold, no problem so far. But had the cadaver not been found and disposed of before leaving for Japan, who knows what would have awaited us on our return.

The flight via London went without really major problems, just the usual sickness of our daughter when flying.
I've come to Narita by airplane many times already, but this was the first time we made such a huge loop around the whole place. And as visibility was really good, this made for very interesting half an hour.

In Japan, the weather greeted us with comfortable numbers on the thermometer. (Many Swiss people would probably use the term high, rather than comfortable, but I might not exactly be the average Swiss guy.) A welcome change to the freezing days, weeks and months in Helvetia.
