< Tama Zoo | Japan (Spring 2004) | Hachijo-jima > A Day in Kamakura2004.Apr.17A beautiful, sunny and warm day. Great for some hiking or the like. But going far was not possible as the next day I had to catch a boat in the evening. So why not go to visit some familiar places I hadn't been to for a long time, close to where I had been living for a couple of years? Good idea. So off I went on foot towards Ofuna, passing Joraku-ji, further on to Kita Kamakura. This time I did not visit Engaku-ji, but instead passed right in front of it and headed for Genji-yama. This is a wonderful small hike connecting many of Kamakura's major sights, like Zeniarai-benten, Daibutsu or Hase-dera among others. I hadn't visited Zeniarai-benten for probably more than ten years, Daibutsu for maybe seven and I'm not sure whether I actually went to Hase-dera before. in Sasuke Inari Jinja Joraku-ji Minamoto no Yoritomo in Genji-yama![]() ![]() ![]() Hase-dera ![]() < Tama Zoo | Japan (Spring 2004) | Hachijo-jima > |
